7 July 2026 | Feminist Approaches to Bioethics (FAB) Congress, Johannesburg, South Africa
This panel brings together five panelists whose expertise spans the full arc of the SAGER guidelines’ origins and global uptake, the gap between publishing standards and ethics oversight, methodological rigour and gender bias in research design, bioethics and REC practice, and feminist medical education. Together, the panel aims to provide an overview of the problem and a prospective account of the SAGER-Ethics guidelines currently in development to harmonize the efforts to address the gender evidence gaps.
The session is explicitly designed as an open exchange space, an opportunity to seek feedback on the rationale, process and the draft recommendations, inviting participant to share their insights and feedback, and invite opportunities for collaboration meaning the agenda must reserve substantial time for audience interaction.
