This event will present the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) guidelines to the Ukrainian research community. Since their launch in 2016, the SAGER guidelines have become a global framework for addressing persistent gender biases and advancing sex- and gender-responsive, responsible research for better science. The webinar will explore how considering sex and gender in research design, study implementation, scientific reporting, and broader science communication can contribute to more rigorous, transparent, and inclusive research in Ukraine. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about the Guidelines from their lead author and gain first-hand insights into their development and application. The event will also introduce the Ukrainian translations of the SAGER Guidelines and supporting resources.
Speakers:
Dr Shirin Heidari, lead author of the SAGER guidelines, founding chair of the EASE Gender Policy Committee, Founder and Executive Director of GENDRO, Senior Researcher, Gender Centre, Geneva Graduate Institute.
Dr Olena Strelnyk, gender researcher, Senior Researcher of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific Journal “Ukrainian Society”.
The session will be moderated by Dr Nataliia Bazeliuk, Chair of EASE Ukraine.
